Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, we have the answers.

As Podiatrists we are qualified to treat anything in the lower limb (from the hip down to your feet and toes!). We do tend to focus in on the foot and ankle in particular, however we always consider the knees, hip, back and upper body when treating someone. Treatments are varied and include: skin and nail assessments, ingrown toenails, corns and callous removal; foot pain/injuries, orthotics, footwear, plantar warts, fungal nail and skin infections; paediatric podiatry assessments, diabetic foot check ups and sports podiatry and injury assessment and management.
Plantar fasciitis (heel pain), bunions and ingrown toenails.
No. This question I get asked all the time. We only have the most gentle, professional and skilled podiatrists at The Foot Studio. You will not experience pain and should never be concerned of this when booking an appointment with us. We also have the ability to use local anaesthetic where required for treatments such as ingrown toenails.
No. You do not need a referral to book an appointment with one of our podiatrists. There is a ‘Chronic Disease Management Plan’ that your G.P can organise which entitles you up to bulk billed Podiatry consultations. You have to have a chronic disease such as diabetes to be eligible. If you are unsure then definitely chat to your doctor. This is also previously known as an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program.
Medicare will partially cover your Podiatry treatment if you have a valid Chronic Disease Management referral from your general practitioner. This means you pay the full amount for your treatment and then medicare puts a rebate back in to your account.
Yes! We have a HICAPS machine ready to go in clinic which means you can swipe your card at the end of your consultation and only pay the gap. It’s so easy! Please note that every health fund is different, and depending on your level of coverage and agreed package, this will affect how much you get back on each consultation. It is best to check with your own personal health fund to get an accurate answer.

Yes.

We aim to be a mostly paperless clinic. We use online software to store our clinical notes. Some forms will be filled out on an iPad and any information that your podiatrist wishes to give you can be emailed directly to you.

This is no worries at all! All you have to do is ask your Podiatrist and we can print off a paper copy for you there and then. Here at The Foot Studio we are doing our best to become a 100% paperless clinic, however we do understand that from time to time some people may prefer paper receipts and management plans.

This is no problem at all! All you have to do is get in touch with one of our friendly staff; we are more than happy work with you and move appointments around as required.

It is the policy of this practice that any client who fails to present for a scheduled appointment on time or cancels with less than 24 hours notice is charged the full fee of the missed appointment, unless it can be filled by someone else.

We want everyone to be pain free and have healthy skin and nails.

We strive to offer appointments on time and to suit your schedule and we value your time as you do ours.

Our waitlist has people who want to get on with their recovery journey and get out of pain.

To be fair to all the minimum time for the Studio to run unaffected is 24 hours notice for any cancellation.
